Cold Lake RCMP Seize $35,000 worth of Marihuana during Traffic Stop

56 year old Cold Lake man arrested for trafficking following traffic stop

On October 14th, around 5:00 pm, the Cold Lake Peace Officers were involved in a traffic stop and recovered a large quantity of marihuana. Following the The Peace Officer requested the assistance of the Cold Lake RCMP Detachment.

The RCMP found and seized 3.5 kilograms of marihuana with the street value of $35,000. The driver, who was also the lone occupant of the vehicle, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

A 56 year old Cold Lake man, with charges pending , is not in custody and is scheduled to appear at Cold Lake Provincial Court on December 14th, at 10:00 am. The name of the man arrested has not been released because charges have not yet been formally sworn. LCN will keep you posted as this story develops and if charges are placed on the man.
