Mistaken Address
Intoxicated Male mistakes house for his own residence
The Cold Lake RCMP responded to a 911 call on October 1st, just after midnight, that an unknown male had broken into a residence on 54th avenue. The homeowner had reported that the unknown male was in his basement and was able to provide the police with a description.
Before the RCMP were able to attend the scene, the male had left; however he was spotted running down 54th avenue towards Holy Cross Elementary School. RCMP located a 20 year old male from Cold Lake and arrested him.
The man was lodged in a cell at the Cold Lake detachment, “he was released when sober,” confirms S/Sgt of the Cold Lake RCMP Detachment, Jeremie Landry. “He was released without charges at the request of the homeowners.” It is believed that the male’s level of intoxication contributed to him mistaking the residence for his own, “he left without altercations with the homeowners,” confirms S/Sgt Landry.
