Chilliwack Pair Charged following Drunken Disturbance in Cold Lake

RCMP say the female assaulted an officer once at the holding cell

A man and woman from Chilliwack, BC were arrested and charged in Cold Lake following an incident on September 3rd. Cold Lake RCMP received a call regarding a man with a knife at approximately 6:30 pm. The initial 911 call described the man as being belligerent, intoxicated and threatening. When police attended they arrested a man and a woman on scene for causing property damage and a disturbance.

The male, 21 year old Travis Vogelaar, of Chilliwack, BC, was in breach of a recognizance and was charged with seven offenses. Charges included breach of recognizance x 3 and being at large x 4. Vogelaar appeared in court and was released on cash bail until his next court appearance on September 14th at 10:00 am in Cold Lake.

The female, 18 year old Nicole Evans, of Chilliwack, BC, was arrested for causing property damage. Once back at the holding cell, Evans allegedly hit an officer in the face and then kicked the officer. The officer suffered minor injuries, while Evans was charged for the incident. Evans is facing charges of mischief under $5000 and assaulting an officer. She will appear at Cold Lake Provincial Court on October 26th at 10:00 am.
