On Saturday, July 23rd, Pierceland RCMP responded to a single vehicle rollover which left one man dead. RCMP say four other occupants weren’t wearing seatbelts at the time of the rollover and were all ejected from the vehicle.
A 59 year old man from Big Island Lake Cree Territory was pronounced dead as a result of the accident. The four other occupants, all residents of Big Island Lake Cree Territory were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation is ongoing as RCMP look into what may have caused the rollover. It is unknown if alcohol, drugs, or driving conditions were a factor in the crash.
