In the late evening of July 3rd, a female was struck and killed by a vehicle, while she was walking on the side of the highway, near Pierceland.

Police and emergency crews including Pierceland Fire, Cold Lake EMS and Cold Lake Fire attended the scene, Highway 55, 16 kilometres east of Pierceland shortly after 11:00 pm.

The woman, a 32 year old from Mudie Lake First Nations was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the woman did not receive any injuries. Police say the investigation is ongoing and no charges have been laid at this time.
