No Mud Flaps
On May 12th, 2016, a Constable with the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment was conducting patrols near Kehewin, AB and observed a vehicle without no mud flaps. A traffic stop was initiated with the vehicle and while speaking with the driver, the Constable noted alcohol on his breath. The driver, a 33 year old male resident of Sherwood Park, AB who holds a GLD license, was arrested and transported to the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment after failing a breath test while providing a roadside sample of his breath. There the driver provided samples over the provincial limit and was issued a driving suspension along with a 3 day vehicle seizure due to his GLD license.
Domestic Assault Stopped
On May 14th, 2016 just after midnight, the Bonnyville RCMP detachment received a 911 call for service of a domestic dispute in progress to a residence in the town of Bonnyville. RCMP Officers were flagged down a few houses away from the residence by the victim who was able to flee. The victim reported that her fiance came home drunk and kicked the door in. The victim told police she had fled for fear of her own safety because her fiance had a assaulted her a few weeks prior. The male, was located and subsequently resisted arrest causing a struggle to ensue. Once the male was secured by police, he was transported to Bonnyville RCMP Detachment and lodged into cells. Once sober, the male was released on court compelling conditions and is to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on June 21st, 2016 facing charges of Assault, Resist Arrest and Mischief.
Drunk Grab N Dash
On May 15th, 2016 at approximately 3:30 AM, the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment received a complaint from the 7-11 in downtown Bonnyville, AB reporting that there was an intoxicated female who had grabbed numerous items off the store shelves before fleeing the scene. Constables located the female, an 18 year old resident of Ardmore, AB, who was arrested and transported to the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment and held until sober. The female was charged for theft and is to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court at a later date.
