St. Paul RCMP Charge Two Men w/ Drug Trafficking Offenses

During the late evening of Monday, May 9, 2016 the St. Paul RCMP received a report of two suspicious males on the Saddle Lake Cree Nation possibly in possession of firearms. Officers located the two males inside a vehicle. They were arrested without incident and during search of the vehicle, officers located: a sawed off shotgun, an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, and a variety of ammunition as well as drugs.

44 year old, Rod Castor of Fort McMurray and Tyrone Shirt, 29, of Saddle Lake are each facing 10 charges related to the possession of prohibited weapons and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. They have both been released from custody.

Tyrone Shirt next court appearance is scheduled for May 26, 2016. Rod Castor is schedule to appear in St. Paul Provincial court on June 2, 2016.
