All Northern Lights schools will be ready to register students from Fort McMurray when classes resume on Monday, May 9.
Northern Lights schools in Wandering River, Plamondon and Lac La Biche were closed on May 4 and 5 due to the evacuation of Fort McMurray. Friday was a scheduled Family Friday (no school day). Classes will resume as scheduled on Monday.
Families from Fort McMurray who wish to enrol their child(ren) in school while they are staying in our communities are welcome to register in any Northern Lights school. They are encouraged to bring any education related documents that they have with them, but documentation will not be required to register.
Northern Lights schools will also assist students from Fort McMurray with any supplies or other items that they need to finish the rest of the school year.
