MD will Sell Fire Wood at Crane Lake this Camping Season

Spring is a transition period for Community Services, reported Director Chris McCord at the Municipal District (MD) of Bonnyville Council Meeting on Wednesday, April 27th. There are lots to do to officially close out winter recreation destinations, such as Kinosoo Ridge Ski Resort and opening up the campgrounds and other summer hot spots.

“Routine maintenance at Kinosoo, the chairs are off both of the lifts with shutdown operations going, as per normal,” reports Director of Community Services, Chris McCord. “Fish stands are going in at Crane Lake, over the next two weeks. This will allow for public use, not just for the campers.” McCord says regular maintenance is going on a MD campgrounds, “working on picnic tables and refurbishing picnic shelter.” The MD has also planned for small wood yard for Crane Lake for the 2016 camping season and will have fire wood available at the lake, “for both sides, we’ll be selling fire wood at Crane Lake,” confirms McCord.

There will likely be some tree clearing around Wolf Lake before camping season officially begins, confirms McCord, “they go out every year and do a check on the trees.” Bookings for MD campgrounds has officially opened, for more information visit, md.bonnyville.ab.ca.

On the direction of McCord, Council made a motion to pass the Bonnville Ag Society’s operating grant of $20,000. The motion was approved and carried.
