Last night at approximately 9:25 p.m., members from the Elk Point RCMP detachment responded to a report of a stabbing which occurred on the Frog Lake First Nation. Police and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel located the 34-year-old man, however he was pronounced deceased by EMS at the scene.
The RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit (MCU) from Edmonton has assumed carriage of the investigation and is working with members from the Elk Point RCMP detachment.
A 21-year-old man has been arrested and taken into custody. Initial stages of the investigation has determined that the two men knew one another. Police have notified the family of the victim.
At this time, additional details are not available but updates will be provided as new information is confirmed by the ongoing investigation.
