Bonnyville RCMP Charge Two w/ Drug Trafficking

On March 25th, 2016 at approximately 5:00 PM, a Constable with the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment was conducting pro-active patrols in the town of Bonnyville when he observed a red truck drive past him with occupants that were known to him.  The Constable knew the vehicle passenger, a 29 year old resident of Bonnyville, was wanted for No Insurance out of Bonnyville.  A traffic stop was initiated with the vehicle and during the arrest of the passenger for the outstanding warrant, a methamphetamine pipe was observed in the vehicle.

At this point both the passenger and the driver, a 27 year old female resident of Kehewin, AB, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Search incidental to arrest of both persons, their possessions and of the vehicle resulted in finding:
numerous baggies containing methamphetamine found inside a purse
a methamphetamine pipe
2 cell phones
a large amount of Canadian currency
a baggie of marihuana
a drug kit
All evidence was seized and both vehicle occupants were advised that they were now under arrest for Possession for the Purpose of Traffiking. Both persons were transported to the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment where they were placed in front of Justices of the Peace.

The female was granted $750 cash bail facing charges of Possession for the Purpose of Traffiking, Possession of Proceeds of Crime, Possession of Marihuana and Failing to Comply with Conditions.

The male was granted $750 cash bail facing charges of Possession for the Purpose of Traffiking, Possession of Proceeds of Crime and Possession of Marihuana.  Both paid bail and were released on court compelling documents to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on April 5th, 2016

Methamphetamine seized totaled approximately 26 grams with an approximate street value of $2000.00
