The Bonnyville & District Chamber of Commerce officially welcomed its new Executive Director, Andrea Yaramie on Thursday at the organizations Annual General Meeting. Andrea is excited to follow in Tanya’s impressive footsteps, “I’m definitely, very excited! It’s a great opportunity to step into this role, Tanya has done a phenomenal job in her time with the Chamber. We’re sad to see her go, but super excited that it’s for a maternity leave.” Andrea says she’s excited to help grow the Chamber and expand opportunities for members, “we want to benefit our members even more than we already are and constantly build up the community and advocate for our members.”

Andrea, originally from Saskatchewan, has been in Bonnyville since 2000, “I consider myself a Bonnyvillian.” Prior to the Chamber, Andrea worked at the Lakeland Credit Union and a Support Aid for people with disabilities. “I love the community and there’s a lot of good, community heart here, between the businesses and community members. It’s just a really great place to be.”

There’s lots of exciting events on the way in 2016, says Andrea; including the Chamber EARN events. Which give members access to various learning opportunities, networking, and management seminars. The Chamber will be hosting its annual Chili Cook-Off in July during the week of the rodeo, the golf scramble and the Lakeland Business of the Year Awards.
