Cold Lake RCMP: Charges Laid in Drugs & Firearms Seizure
During the early morning hours of March 27, 2016, Cold Lake RCMP located and stopped a vehicle on the Cold Lake First Nations by Highway 28. After an investigation, the driver was arrested, a quantity of cannabis marihuana, and a small amount of cocaine was seized. Also seized, was a loaded handgun, a shotgun, ammunition, and a significant amount of Canadian currency.
25 year old Lyndon Patrick McLeod, of Edmonton, has been charged with two counts of possessing a firearm in a careless manner, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of possessing a firearm without a licence, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, unauthorized possession of a loaded restricted firearm, possession of Cannabis Marihuana, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.
Lyndon McLeod has been remanded into custody and is next appearing at Cold Lake Provincial Court on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at 10:00 a.m.
