At 1:00 am, on March 13th, Cold Lake RCMP conducted a traffic stop after witnessing a vehicle run a red light. RCMP also report the vehicle was swerving in and out of its own lane and speeding. During the traffic stop, there was a strong odour of marihuana coming from the vehicle.

The occupants were difficult with police, explains S/Sgt Jeremie Landry, “RCMP attempted to arrest the driver and passenger, although they proceeded to lock themselves inside the vehicle.: As S/Sgt Landry explains, the members were able to talk the occupants into cooperating, “after some negotiation, they exited the vehicle and were arrested.”

Two males, a 25 year old and 19 year old, both from Cold Lake, were arrested with charges of resisting arrested are pending. Both have been released pending their appearance at Cold Lake Provincial Court on April 27th at 10:00 am.
