On February 25th Bonnyville RCMP received a complaint of a 63 year old man from Bonnyville driving a quad while impaired. RCMP located the male operating the quad. He was arrested for Impaired Operation and provided breath samples of more than 2 1/2 times the legal limit.
He was also a suspended driver and the quad did not have active registration. He was charged with Impaired Operation, Impaired Operation over 80mg%, Driving while Disqualified and Operating a vehicle without registration. His first appearance is set for March 22, 2016.
According to Section 253 of the Criminal Code, impaired operation of a motor vehicle includes: a motor vehicle or vessel or operates or assists in the operation of an aircraft or of railway equipment or has the care or control of a motor vehicle, vessel, aircraft or railway equipment, whether it is in motion or not.
