PONTIACS Take Part in Family Literacy Awareness
Pontiacs’ Steenn and Brinson PASICHNUK, Ryan SYMINGTON, Alden DUPUIS and Bobby McMANN were on hand at Notre Dame School to help raise awareness for Family Literacy.
The Family Literacy Event in Bonnyville is a national awareness initiative held annually to raise awareness of the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family.
Taking time every day to read or do a learning activity with children is crucial to a child’s development. Even just 15 minutes a day can improve a child’s literacy skills dramatically, and can help a parent improve their skills as well. Family Pass Tickets were given out to a number of the families that participated.
I have to say that they were amazing gentlemen! Those little kids adored them and I personally spoke to many of the parents also in attendance who were very proud of our Pontiacs. Well done guys and Well done Coaching/Admin Staff for our successful promotion of our culture to the community! – Gene Sobolewski Mayor of Bonnyville
The Bonnyville Jr A Pontiacs’ organization was “proud to be a part of this worthy importance,” reports Head Coach Rick Swan.
