First Look at Design Plans for Ashmont School
St. Paul Education is pleased to provide an update on the Ashmont replacement school project. The design phase is nearing completion and St. Paul Education is very excited with the functionality and spaces the proposed layout provides.
While not yet finalized, the K-12 school design is very functional and will allow for shared common spaces and four distinct wings to accommodate grade and program groupings. Construction is currently anticipated to start in summer/fall of 2016 and is estimated to take
18 months. Once the new building is completed, the existing building will be demolished to allow for the remaining site development.
Board Chairperson, Heather Starosielski stated: “The planning team has worked hard to ensure the design is well suited to student, staff and community needs and we are pleased to be able to share this update with our public.”
