Cold Lake RCMP Briefs January 29th to February 3rd, 2015

Sometime between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm, on January 29th, there was a break and enter at a residence on Cold Lake First Nations. The homeowner was at work during the theft. There were several valuable items taken from the home; including, a 50″ TV, two Playstation 4s, and a stereo.

There does not appear to be forced entry to the residence, however there was damage done when the suspect(s) gained access to a particular room of the home.

The Cold Lake RCMP Detachment is asking the public if they witnessed anything suspicious or have any information on this crime to contact the Detachment at 780-594-3301 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

 

Bar Fight in Cold Lake North

Just after midnight on January 31st, Cold Lake RCMP responded to a report of a fight at a bar on 8th street in the North. Callers reported that two males were knocked out and bottles were thrown during the incident.

Before members of the RCMP were able to respond, one of the suspects involved had left in a cab. Both males, ages 36 and 35, of Cold Lake, were located shortly there after, and lodged, overnight, in the Detachment. Both were issued a violation ticket under the Gaming & Liquor Act.

 

Attempted B&E at Liquor Store

On February 1st, at 5:17 am, Cold Lake RCMP received a report that there was a white, extended cab, Chevy truck that was stopped at the Marina Mall Liquor Store. The caller reported witnessing a couple suspects using a sledgehammer to smash the liquor store window.

The suspects did not gain entry into the store, and nothing was taken.

Drunk & Angry 

On February 3rd, Cold Lake RCMP received a 911 call at 7:45 pm. The caller reported there was an intoxicated male who was very angry and was trying to beat everyone up. The caller also reported that suspect had damaged some property and was now bleeding.

RCMP attended a residence on the Elizabeth Metis Settlement and arrested a 42 year old male, from Cold Lake First Nations, on an outstanding warrant. No other charges were placed on the man as a result.
