Around 1:30pm on January 1st, 2016, the St. Paul RCMP and local emergency services were dispatched to a collision on Northwest 4 road on the Saddle Lake reserve. A van carrying seven people was struck as it exited a driveway by a westbound pickup truck.
The driver of the van became trapped in the vehicle but was successfully extracted by Saddle Lake fire and rescue crews. Several of those involved were transported by ambulance to local hospitals, but no serious or life threatening injuries were reported. The exact cause of the collision remains under investigation at this time.
