NLSD Receives Achievement Results

Northern Lights School Division (NLSD) has received achievement results from the Province of Alberta. Communications Officer, Nicole Garner explains, the achievement results, or Annual Education Results Report (AERR) is like a report card for the division to gauge how well NLSD is doing.

“It’s basically a report on how well we’re doing on our three-year plan,” Garner explains last year was the final year in the divisions 2012-2015 three-year plan, “this is the final results report connected to the previous three-year plan.”

The report, which can be viewed on NLSD’s website, compiles a multitude of factors to determine the success of the division, says Garner. “It has all the goals that Alberta Ed. sets for us and then the progress that we’re making towards meeting those goals. Plus, any goals that we set for ourselves and it includes our Accountability Pillar.” The Accountability Pillar, as Garner explains it, “is the results from the surveys that Alberta Ed does in January-February of each year.” The AERR also includes Student Achievement and PET results.
