21 Year Old Kehewin Man Has Died in Fatal Collision on Hwy 41

On November 4, 2015 at approximately 1:55 p.m. the Elk Point and Bonnyville RCMP were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on Highway 41 near Township Road 585A.  (approximately 18 km north of Elk Point on Highway 41).  A 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier was northbound on Highway 41 when it lost control, rolled and ended up inverted on its roof.  There were five people in the vehicle at the time.  Citizens passing by stopped and helped the injured from the vehicle.

The driver, a 21 year old male from Kehewin, was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The four other passengers were transported to St Paul and Bonnyville hospitals.  The passenger’s medical conditions are not known at this time.

Preliminary investigation revealed that speed and alcohol are likely factors in this collision.  The investigation continues.

 

Regional EMS, Elk Point Fire Department, Bonnyville RCMP, Elk Point RCMP and the RCMP Collision Reconstruction Analyst all assisted with the management and investigation of this collision.
