MLA Scott Cyr in Response to CLAWR Conversation

In response to Mayor of Bonnyville Gene Sobolewski’s Letter to the Editor regarding Cold Lake Air Weapons Range (CLAWR) funds and the subsequent response from Mayor Craig Copeland, MLA for Bonnyville-Cold Lake, Scott Cyr has issued the following statement:

The previous government is largely responsible for the current funding arrangement that is in place.  Unfortunately, it has pitted the joint-interests of our communities against one another, instead of joining us together.

I respect and welcome the views of every municipality involved in this issue, and look forward to playing a behind the scenes role as a consensus builder so we can present a united front to the provincial government and what is best for Cold Lake, Bonnyville and our entire region.

If everyone works together in a spirit of cooperation and understanding I am sure that we can find solutions that will make everyone better off. – Scott Cyr MLA Bonnyville-Cold Lake
