On October 15, 2015 at 8:40 p.m. Cold Lake RCMP attempted to stop a suspected impaired driver. The pursuit lasted 30 minutes and in an attempt to avoid police, the suspect drove through fields and quad trails. RCMP successfully deployed a tire deflation device and arrested the driver as he fled on foot. A 17 year old male passenger was also arrested.

The vehicle was reported stolen a short time after the arrests.

19 year old Jarett SCANIE of Cold Lake First Nation, Alberta has been charged with several driving offences which include Impaired Driving, Dangerous Driving, Drive while Disqualified and Fail to Stop. He was also charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Resist Arrest and Breach of Recognizance.

SCANIE has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear on October 28, 2015 in Cold Lake Provincial Court.
