Male Arrested Following 4 Vehicle Collision Outside Cold Lake
On September 15, 2015, at approximately 4:00 p.m. Cold Lake RCMP were dispatched to a four vehicle collision on Highway 28 just south of the City of Cold Lake.
The scene investigation revealed that a north bound car, driven by an adult male side swiped a truck with one male occupant. The north bound car then struck a south bound van with one female occupant which was travelling in the south bound lane. The collision then caused a south bound car with two female occupants to then collide with the back of the van.
The adult male of the north bound car was arrested at the scene and charges are pending. RCMP are investigating drugs as being a factor in the collision.
The lone female occupant in the van suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital. The other occupants of the other vehicles suffered minor injuries and were treated on scene and released.
If there are any witnesses who have yet to speak with police, they are asked to contact the Cold Lake RCMP who continues to investigate. Traffic flow was disrupted for a short period of time and was down to one lane until 5:00 p.m.
