Shoppers now doing asymptomatic COVID tests in Vermilion

Vermilion residents without symptoms can now get tested for COVID-19 at Shoppers Drug Mart.

Since Monday, the Vermilion location has been offering the tests, and by Sept. 1 Albertans can get asymptomatic testing at all 234 Alberta locations.

This is in addition to provincewide testing offered by AHS assessment centres and other community pharmacies that already offer tests.

Alberta Health Services encourages other pharmacies to register for asymptomatic testing.

More than 50 Shoppers’ locations provincewide have already been offering these tests.

Other Loblaws pharmacy locations, like Independent Foods, Extra Foods, City Market, and No Frills will offer tests by Sept. 1.

There are currently two active cases of COVID-19 in the County of Vermilion River.
