BONNYVILLE – The Bonnyville Snowdusters are celebrating a big win after being named Alberta’s Snowmobile Club of the Year at the 2026 Alberta Snowmobile Association Awards of Excellence.

The local club earned two major honours at the awards banquet on Saturday, October 17, at the Château Lacombe in Edmonton, taking home Club of the Year for the Iron Horse Region and Club of the Year for Alberta.

The recognition celebrates the club’s dedication to snowmobiling, volunteerism, and its members’ continued efforts to support and grow the sport.

And the celebrations didn’t stop there!

Local business Dynamo Small Engines, owned by Jeff Friesen, also received the Snowmobile Related Business of the Year award.

The Snowdusters shared their excitement following the ceremony, calling the evening both incredible and surprising.

“We are very honoured and humbled to receive ALL these awards!! It’s all thanks to the continued support and hard work of our amazing board, members, and sponsors! We could not have done it without you,” the club shared.

The club also congratulated Friesen, recognizing his contributions and ongoing support.

“We are very honoured that you are part of our growing club and can’t thank you enough for all you do! You definitely deserve this outstanding award.”

The annual Awards of Excellence recognize outstanding volunteerism, dedication and contributions to snowmobiling throughout Alberta.
