With heavy hearts and thoughts of fond memories, the family of Judith Marie Cardinal announce her passing on Wednesday October 7, 2026 at the age of 72 years.

Judith was devoted and proud of her role within the Portage Collage. In her spare time, she enjoyed gathering with those close to her for a friendly game of BINGO and good conversation.

Although she wasn’t one to wear her heart on her sleeve, Judith deeply loved her family. Despite the distance, she was very attached to her siblings, children and grandchildren. When a loved one passed, she felt immense grief.

Leaving to mourn and cherish her memories are her daughters: Crystal (Cory) Ladouceur, Laura (Damian) Cardinal; grandchildren: Justin Collins, Casey (Sam) Collins, Randie (Abi) Collins, Ashtin (Nick) Gibler, Trisha (Bradin) Richard, Chantelle (James) Cardinal, Mackenna (Justin) Huppie, Melanie (Chris) Huppie; great grandchildren: Brent Collins, Aydan Collins, Aurora Lester, Braxton Stamp, Brielle Bull; sisters Bonnie Kaler, Vi (Brian) Brown, Eileen (Ike) Guenther, Shelley (Bill) Kaler; as well as many extended family and friends within the community.

Judith is predeceased by and going home into the arms of her loving husband Silas Cardinal; daughters: Sheryl Huppie, Melanie Cardinal; grandsons: Jeremy Collins, Joshua Collins; parents: John & Nora Kaler.

A Service of Remembrance to be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kikino Community Centre, 310 14th Street, Kikino Metis Settlement, Alberta. Pastor Frank Ward will be officiating. Her final resting place will be at the Kikino Cemetery.
