Elk Point – RCMP are investigating after a break-in and copper wire theft caused an estimated 0,000 in damage at a pipeline station in the County of St. Paul.

Elk Point RCMP were called to the pipeline station on Range Road 50 at approximately 7:14 a.m. after staff discovered extensive damage at the site.

According to RCMP, site staff received an alert around 2:30 a.m. indicating a power failure.

When staff investigated, they discovered the station had been broken into and copper wire had been stolen from the power building.

Police say the resulting damage is currently estimated at approximately $500,000.

Despite the extent of the damage, RCMP confirmed no petroleum products were released as a result of the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are now looking for anyone who may have seen suspicious activity or captured video in the area.
