On August 25, 2026, Bernice Bykowsky (nee Hladchuk) of Derwent, Alberta, passed away at the age of 89 years. She is survived by her children, Brian (Sue), Dianne (Dellard) St. Louis, Lorraine (Raymond) Jacula, Lorna (Gary) Brill & Albert (Leeann); 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren & 5 great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers-in-law, Harry Miller & Havey Brantnall; numerous nieces & nephews. Bernice was
predeceased by her husband, Russell; daughter, Marcia; son, Lawrence; parents, Nicholas & Annie Hladchuk; siblings, Lawrence, Victor, Emily, Rosie & Victoria. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Church, Derwent with Reverend Father Andrij Nykyforuk officiating A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Church, Derwent. Reverend Father Andrij Nykyforuk will be officiating with interment in the church cemetery.
