With broken hearts, the family of Tyrone “T-Bone” Riley Sandfly of Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan announce his unexpected passing on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the age of 39 years.

Tyrone is lovingly survived by his four children: Tyrell Ochuschayo, Tyrissa Sandfly, Tyneziha Sandfly, Tyra Sandfly; mother: Dorothy Sandfly; sisters: Jocelyn Sandfly, Joanne Sandfly, Debra Sandfly, Andrea Sandfly; best friend who was like his brother: Kenneth “Kennz” Dufresne; half-brothers: Clint Jackson, Laird Jackson; half-sister: Jenine Jackson; mother of his children: Larissa Ochuschayo; Tyrone will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, cousins and friends.

Tyrone is being reunited with his father: Randy Shirt; brothers: Edwin Sandfly, Jordan Sandfly; sister: Maria Sandfly; step-father: James Mistickokat; maternal grandparents: George & Mary Rose Sandfly; paternal grandparents: Raymond & Mabel Shirt; brother-in-law: Kyle Dufresne; uncles: Alfred Sandfly, Mitchell Sandfly, Peter Sandfly; aunties: Janet Sandfly, Marie Kahpoonapit, Susan Sandfly, Ursula Shirt, Emma Sandfly; nephew: Zander Jackson-Shirt; as well as many other family members.
