February 25, 1926 ~ August 13, 2026 (age 100)

After a lifetime of memories, the family of Jeanne Brown (née Luciak) of Bonnyville, Alberta, sadly announce the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the age of 100 years.

Jeanne was blessed to live a long and full life, and she fought the good fight right up to the age of 100. Throughout her many years, she blessed all those who crossed her path with her bright smile, twinkle in her eye, and wholesome sense of humour. Her unwavering Christian faith, her ability to make everyone feel welcome, and her infectious giggle were just a few of the many qualities that made her so special.

She was a proud Mom to her two sons, Cyril and Bert, who kept her on her toes with their many jokes—many of which they likely inherited from their Mom.

Jeanne cherished the many days she spent with her grandchildren. She loved playing games, giving them rides on the lawnmower, and making sure there was always an abundance of their favourite treats, including orange creamsicles, grape pop, and licorice, allsorts—which may not have been quite as popular with the kids!

Jeanne was a dedicated and hardworking woman who took great pride and joy in her healthcare career. Through her thoughtful leadership, kindness, and genuine care for others, she built lifelong relationships with the many people she worked alongside.

Jeanne lived a life filled with faith, family, laughter, and love. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of cherished memories and countless lives touched by her warmth and kindness.

She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all those who were blessed to know her.

Jeanne will be lovingly remembered by her son: Cyril (Monica) Wolgien of Bonnyville; daughter-in-law: Vicky Wolgien of Bonnyville, who was married to Jeanne’s son, Bert, who passed away in February this year; her grandchildren: Bret Wolgien (Loretta Johnson) of Cold Lake, Leanna (Marc) Vanderwekken of St. Albert, Brandon (Cheri) Wolgien of Bonnyville, Carissa (Luke) Henkelman of Busby, Rachael (Johnathan) Gelderblom of Terrace, BC, and Teagan Comeau-Wolgien (Tim Stubbs) of Vancouver, BC; her great-grandchildren: Elisha Wolgien (Alex Seward), Sky Wolgien (Daymien McGillis), Maya Vanderwekken, Bowen Vanderwekken, Maddison Wolgien, Nate Wolgien, Ceejay Wolgien, Amelia Henkelman, Emmitt Henkelman, and Merrik Henkelman; her brothers: George (Florence) Luciak and Peter (Jenovia) Luciak; her sister: Anne Mickalyk; her daughter-in-law: Marylyn Wolgien; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Jeanne was predeceased by her first husband: Hubert Wolgien; her second husband: Keith Brown; her parents: William and Rachel Luciak; and her siblings: Peter Luciak (as a child), Ruth Sherstan, Stanley Luciak, John Luciak, Lucy Bubenko, Mike Luciak, and Mary Melashenko.

Funeral Service, Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., at the Bonnyville Fellowship Alliance Church, Bonnyville, AB, with Pastor Trevor Schaffrick. Final Resting Place, Glendon Evangelical Cemetery, Glendon, AB.
