On Friday, July 17, 2026, Edward “Ed” Kolody of Bonnyville passed away in Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 63 years.
Ed is lovingly survived by his children Tasha and Jordan; his grandchildren Alexcia, Kylie, Max, Jillian, and Jakob; his mother Marie Kolody; his siblings Mitch (Linda), Dianne (Marc) Bureau, Morris (Shirley), Donna Dobni, Kristine (Mike) Martynuik, Wayne, and Patricia (Brian) Eberts; his sister in law Ledale Kolody; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Ed was predeceased by his father John Kolody; his brother in law Wayne Dobni; and his grandparents John & Pauline Kolody and Nick & Antonia Harasimiuk.
Ed loved the outdoors and found his greatest peace in nature. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and trapping, and he was always happiest spending time on the land. He was especially known for firing up his chainsaw and cutting wood—a simple, steady rhythm he truly loved.
A Tribute of Life will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Northern Lights Funeral Chapel, Bonnyville. A private family inurnment will take place following the Tribute of Life.
