Motorists travelling near Elk Point are being urged to avoid a section of Highway 41 after municipal officials reported significant structural concerns involving a bridge south of town.

According to a notice issued by the Town of Elk Point, the bridge located south of Petro Gas and Alliance Heavy Industries is experiencing what officials described as significant structural failure and is considered at risk of collapse.

As a result, residents and travellers are being strongly advised not to use the route until further notice.

Town officials are asking motorists to avoid the area entirely and use alternate routes while the situation is assessed and addressed.
