Alberta Wildfire crews are responding to two new wildfires discovered Tuesday in the Lac La Biche Forest Area.
According to an update released Wednesday morning, wildfire LWF052 was discovered around noon on May 26 and is now classified as Being Held.
The fire is estimated at five hectares in size and is located approximately 24 kilometres northwest of Highway 63.
Night-vision equipped helicopters worked on hot spots overnight and firefighters are continuing suppression efforts Wednesday.
A second fire, LWF053, was discovered Tuesday evening and is also classified as Being Held. The fire is estimated at 1.8 hectares in size.
No additional information about potential impacts or evacuation concerns had been released as of Wednesday morning.
