Lac La Biche County residents will have an opportunity to learn more and ask questions about a planned transitional housing centre relocation during an upcoming community open house in the Bonesville subdivision area.

According to a public notice issued by the County, the Lakeland Out of the Elements Shelter Society transitional housing and monitored support centre is anticipated to relocate to Lot 8 in the Bonesville subdivision area by June 4, 2026.

The centre is expected to provide temporary housing and support services for vulnerable individuals in the region who are working toward stability, safety and improved well-being.

The County says staff and support personnel will be on site to help ensure the facility operates safely, respectfully and with ongoing oversight.

An in-person community consultation meeting has been scheduled to provide information about the project, answer questions and allow residents to meet directly with representatives involved in the relocation.

The open house will take place:

Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
Bonesville Subdivision – Lot 8

Community members are encouraged to attend, learn more about the project and share feedback. Free hot dogs and hamburgers will also be available for attendees.

Lac La Biche County says the project is part of ongoing efforts to support residents facing difficult circumstances through access to housing and support services.
