A Cold Lake woman is facing drug trafficking charges after RCMP say a traffic stop led to the seizure of suspected cocaine.
Cold Lake RCMP said officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 55 near Cold Lake at approximately 10 p.m. on May 3, 2026.
During the stop, the driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. RCMP said a search of the vehicle found approximately 50 grams of suspected cocaine.
As a result of the investigation, 43-year-old Gwen Janvier of Cold Lake has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and failure to comply with release conditions related to similar offences.
Janvier was brought before a Justice of the Peace and released on conditions.
She is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake on May 20, 2026.
