Lloydminster RCMP have arrested a man following a reported armed robbery that led to a stolen vehicle and a coordinated police response later the same day.

Robbery Reported in Rural Municipality of Britannia

Police say the incident happened in the early morning hours of April 29, 2026, in the Rural Municipality of Britannia. According to RCMP, the robbery involved two individuals who were known to each other.

Investigators say a male suspect, armed with a weapon, assaulted the victim before stealing the victim’s vehicle.

Suspect Arrested Hours Later in Lloydminster

Later that day, around 5:00 p.m., RCMP located the stolen vehicle near 36 Street and 52 Avenue in Lloydminster. Officers conducted a coordinated traffic stop and safely arrested the driver, who was believed to be connected to the earlier robbery.

RCMP were assisted by Alberta RCMP’s Real Time Operation Centre, the Lloydminster General Investigation Section, and Police Dog Services.

Charges and Court Date

Christopher Luipersbeck, 38, of Lloydminster, has been charged with robbery and use of a forged document.

He appeared before a justice and has been remanded in custody. Luipersbeck is scheduled to appear in Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Lloydminster on May 4, 2026.

Investigation Continues

Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
