A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of 30-year-old Vermilion resident Brady Greg Snelgrove.

According to Alberta RCMP, Vermilion RCMP, with assistance from the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit, made the arrest on April 25, 2026.

Police say investigators secured enough evidence on April 22 to support charges and obtained an arrest warrant for Cole Eric Hill. RCMP determined Hill had left Alberta following Snelgrove’s death, which occurred on Jan. 21, 2026, in Vermilion.

With help from the public, Sooke RCMP, West Shore RCMP and the West Shore Bike Unit, Hill was located and arrested in Sooke, B.C.

Hill, who police say has no fixed address, has been charged with second-degree murder.

He was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody. RCMP say he will be transported back to Alberta, where he will appear again before a Justice of the Peace for future court status.
