A fast-moving structure fire in Vermilion had firefighters racing to stop flames from spreading to nearby buildings Tuesday afternoon.

 

Crews respond to fully involved structure

Tones dropped at 1:30 p.m. for a reported workshop or garage fire, bringing Vermilion Fire & Rescue Society and County #9-6 crews to the scene. They were joined by Vermilion RCMP and Medavie Health Services West – Northeast Alberta.

When crews arrived, they found the structure fully engulfed, with flames already pushing toward a nearby building.

 

Quick action prevents further damage

Firefighters moved quickly to protect surrounding structures while working to bring the fire under control. Their efforts helped stop the spread and contain the situation before it could escalate further.

 

Team effort behind the response

Officials are recognizing the coordinated response from volunteers, partner agencies and dispatch teams who supported the call from start to finish.
