Cold Lake RCMP have laid multiple charges against two men following a drug trafficking investigation that led to the seizure of a loaded handgun, a shotgun and a significant quantity of suspected cocaine.

The search warrant was executed on April 9, 2026, in the area of 16th Street and 7th Avenue by the Cold Lake RCMP General Investigation Section.

Drugs, Firearms Seized

Police say the warrant followed a short-term investigation into suspected drug trafficking in the area.

Once inside the residence, officers located several individuals and made multiple arrests. A search of the home uncovered:

  • A loaded handgun
  • A shotgun
  • Approximately 128 grams of suspected cocaine
  • Items consistent with drug trafficking

Two Men Facing Multiple Charges

Kyle Alen Piche, 27, of Cold Lake, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a loaded, prohibited firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Carrying a concealed firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm
  • Possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number

John Gabriel, 26, of Bonnyville and Cold Lake, faces charges including:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Failing to comply with conditions of a release order

Court Date Set

Both men have been remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake on April 15, 2026.
