Assistant Coach Taylor & Pontiacs Part Ways
The Bonnyville Jr A Pontiacs announce the departure of Assistant Coach Chad Taylor.
“Chad was a valued member of the Pontiacs organization and the inaugural Head Coach of the Bonnyville Yaks U13 AAA franchise,” explained vp of operations Neil Langridge. “Chad was there from day one of our exciting new partnership that Bonnyville Minor Hockey and the JA Pontiacs formed in the summer of 2024.”
Until now, coach Taylor led the Yaks through 2 full seasons as head coach of the U13AAA Yaks and acted as a 2nd assistant with the Pontiacs.
Taylor tendered his resignation early this week, after accepting a U15 Head Coach position with the Pilot Mound Buffaloes Academy in his home province of Manitoba over the weekend.
“It’s always tough to lose a valued member of the staff but this is what its all about – helping not only players move on in their careers but staff members as well,” said Langridge. “He will get to lead in the exciting U15 prep division in the CSSHL.”
The Bonnyville Pontiacs have a strong history of staff development over the past few years, having coaches like Mario Pouliot and TJ Millar both move onto the pro levels after their time in Bonnyville.
Bonnyville Minor Hockey and the Pontiacs will start immediately looking to fill the position and continue to build the Yaks program to build on the successes of their strategic partnership.
Stayed tuned for more information as it unfolds.
