Bonnyville RCMP are advising the shelter in place has been lifted.
Local schools have also lifted their Hold & Secure orders.

Bonnyville RCMP are actively responding to a firearm-related incident, and residents are being told to stay inside and avoid the area.
The incident is unfolding along 46 Avenue, between 39 Street and 41 Street, with multiple RCMP units on scene, including Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services.
Shelter in place in effect
Residents nearby are asked to shelter in place immediately while police handle the situation. The public is also being told to avoid the area and to not share photos or details of the police response until the incident has been resolved.
Schools placed under Hold & Secure
Several local schools have been placed under Hold & Secure as a precaution. This includes:
- Duclos School
- H.E. Bourgoin School
- Notre Dame Elementary
- Dr. Brosseau School
- Notre Dame High School
Parents are asked not to attend the schools while this remains in effect.
