Two Royal Canadian Air Force CF-188 Hornet fighter jets from 4 Wing Cold Lake, Alta, will conduct a flypast over the Kinosoo Ridge Ski Resort, Cold Lake, in support of the 2026 Kinosoo Blizzard Blast Alpine Ski Race on 28 March at approximately 9 am.
The CF-188 Hornet will conduct the flypast at approx. 500ft above the highest obstacle within the flypast route. Flypasts conducted by Royal Canadian Air Force personnel and assets are carefully planned and closely controlled to ensure the safety of the public, commercial and civilian air traffic, the pilot and the aircraft and are dependant on weather conditions.
The CF-188 Hornet is the Royal Canadian Air Force’s frontline multi-role fighter, and is employed in many different roles, including air defense, air superiority and tactical air and ground support.
