On March 21, 2026 William Dumais of Kehewin Cree Nation passed away in St. Paul, Alberta at the age of 74 years.

William will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Pauline Gadwa; his children: Dean Gadwa, Deanna (Jonathan) Smith, Nicole Gadwa, Patrick Dumais; grandchildren: Felicia Gadwa, Erin Nepoose, William Nepoose, Emma-Lee Smith, Brooklyn Smith, and Savannah Gadwa, as well as Bentley Bryldt, Kailey Dumais, Kolt Dumais; siblings: Nancy (Maurice) Yarmuch, Lena Dumais, Christopher (Nancy) Dumais, Cecile Dumais, Vera Dumais, Daniel (Kerri) Prevost, Teri (Mitch) Jordan, Shelly Dumais, Francis Jr. Gladue, Dakota (Alexis) Gladue; adopted brothers: Melvin Abraham, and Raymond Moyah.

William was predeceased by his sons: Clayton and Henry Gadwa; parents: Francis and Christina Dumais; siblings: Patrick Dumais, Joe Dumais, Doreen Dumais, Lorna Dumais, and Delores Keewatin.
