With grateful hearts for a life well lived, the family of Richard “Dick” Maurice Ellenwood of Cold Lake, Alberta regretfully announce his passing on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at the age of 84 years.
Dick leaves behind treasured memories to his loving family; his wife of 54 years: Erica Ellenwood; children: Cristina (Dennis) Heidecker of Indian Head, Saskatchewan, Robert (Shannon) Ellenwood of Sherwood Park, Alberta; grandchildren: Jillian Heidecker, Kaitlyn Heidecker, Anthony Heidecker, Parker Ellenwood, Chloe Ellenwood, Ethan Ellewood; as well as many other family members and close friends.
Dick is predeceased by his parents: Mary & Robert Ellenwood.
Public Visitation, Friday, March 27, 2026 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Memento Funeral Chapel, Cold Lake, Alberta. Funeral Mass, Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., Eulogy to start at 10:45 a.m. St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church, Cold Lake, Alberta with Father Limneo Zamora officiating. Pallbearers: Dennis Heidecker, Marc Boisvert, Alex Cruder, Kevin Cruder, Parker Ellenwood, Anthony Heidecker.
As per Dick’s wishes, cremation will follow and a private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
Donations in memory of Dick may be sent to the Alberta Wilderness Association, 455-12 St NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 1Y9. Please enjoy a walk in the forest with a loved one in Dick`s memory.
