A Saddle Lake man is facing numerous weapons and drug-related charges after RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in the community earlier this week.
On March 9, 2026, St. Paul/Saddle Lake RCMP, with assistance from the Emergency Response Team – North, Police Dog Services and the Eastern Alberta District Rural Crime Reduction Unit, carried out the warrant at a home in Saddle Lake.
Firearms, drugs and cash recovered
During the search, officers seized several items including firearms, ammunition, weapons, multiple controlled substances and approximately $10,000 in Canadian currency.
Police say the investigation resulted in charges against Darin Moses, who now faces a lengthy list of criminal offences.
Charges laid
Moses has been charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Two counts of possession of a firearm knowing possession was unauthorized
- Two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon knowing possession was unauthorized
- Possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number
- Four counts of weapons possession contrary to order and failure to surrender authorization
- Unsafe storage of firearms
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Two counts of failing to comply with a release order condition
- Failing to comply with an undertaking condition
Investigation continues through the courts
RCMP say the matter is now before the courts.
