Ardmore 4-H Beef Club Members Shine at Annual Communication Day

Young leaders took the stage in Cold Lake this weekend as the Ardmore 4-H Beef Club hosted its annual Communication Day, celebrating confidence, skill and community spirit.

On February 22, 2026, members gathered at the Cold Lake Agriculture Society to showcase their public speaking and presentation talents in front of six judges.

Building Confidence Through Communication

Communication Day is a key part of the 4-H experience, giving members the opportunity to develop strong speaking skills and share topics they are passionate about.

Judging the Presentation category were Catherine Bonneau, Jennifer Dusyck-Johnson and Dawn Weber. The Speech category was judged by Alyssa Krawchuk, Dr. Megan MacLeod and Kelly Johnson.

Presentation Category Winners

In the Presentation category, first place honours went to:

  • Junior: Ezra Pointras Beriault

  • Intermediate: Lisa Pardell

  • Senior: Stella Purdy and Autumn Cory

Speech Category Winners

In the Speech category, there were no Junior competitors this year. First place was awarded to:

  • Intermediate: Ellen Livingston

  • Senior: Cora Lee

All first place winners will move on to the District competition on March 1, 2026, where they will represent the Ardmore 4-H Beef Club.

It was a strong showing for the local club and a proud day for members, families and volunteers supporting the next generation of confident communicators in the Lakeland.
