Lac La Biche County Sets Four-Year Vision at Strategic Planning Session

Published On: February 11, 2026By

Lac La Biche County has mapped out its direction for the next four years. Earlier this week, Council and Administration gathered for a two-day Strategic Planning Session focused on building a stronger, healthier and more prosperous community.

The message coming out of the session was clear: this term will prioritize community wellness, economic growth, education, recreation, tourism and overall quality of life for residents.

A United Vision for the Future

For many members of Council, the session reinforced a shared commitment to long-term success.

“This being my first strategic planning session was very informative,” said Councillor Marczak. “It was good to see that all of Council and Administration has come together with a great vision. I feel if we accomplish all of our goals over the next four years, with community wellness, education, tourism and industry, this County is going to be a wonderful place to live in.”

Deputy Mayor Mondal highlighted the enthusiasm around the term ahead and the importance of alignment.

“The new governance model will ensure efficiency and strategic alignment,” he said. “Council and Administration collectively envision four years of action focused on economic prosperity, quality of life and opportunity for all residents.”

Turning Vision into Action

Councillor Norton described the strategy as more than a simple overview of priorities.

“This article details our collective vision for the next four years,” said Norton. “It sets a bold path forward for our County, one that prioritizes lasting prosperity and a sustainable quality of life for every citizen, today and for generations to come.”

Councillor Young echoed that sentiment, emphasizing collaboration and long-term thinking.

“We aligned priorities across key areas like social wellness, economic growth, recreation, tourism and education to ensure today’s decisions support our community long term,” said Young. “I’m encouraged by the direction we’re taking and proud to be part of a Council committed to turning vision into action.”

Focused on the Next Four Years

With priorities now aligned, Lac La Biche County Council and Administration are moving forward with a shared roadmap. The goal is simple: build a County where families, businesses and future generations can thrive.

Over the next four years, residents can expect to see strategic decisions guided by wellness, opportunity and sustainable growth — all aimed at making Lac La Biche County an even better place to call home.
