County of Vermilion River CAO Alan Parkin to Retire May 1

The County of Vermilion River has announced the retirement of Chief Administrative Officer Alan Parkin, effective May 1, 2026.

Parkin joined the County in October 2022 and has served in the role for the past three and a half years, providing leadership, mentorship and strategic direction to Council and staff.

Looking Ahead to Retirement

“In my retirement I will spend more time fishing, helping with the farm and spending time with family,” said Parkin. “I would like to thank friends, family and neighbours in the County, County staff and Council for support over the past three and a half years.”

County officials say they are grateful for the vision and guidance Parkin brought to the organization during his time as CAO.

Residents and staff are encouraged to join in wishing him a relaxing and well-deserved retirement as he begins this next chapter.
