Lloydminster RCMP Arrest Local Man Following Child Pornography Investigation
A year-long investigation by Lloydminster RCMP has resulted in an arrest connected to the online sharing and possession of child pornography.
Investigation Began in 2024
In October 2024, Lloydminster RCMP received information from the Northern Alberta Internet Child Exploitation Unit (NAICE) indicating that child pornography had been uploaded, shared and or created by an individual in the Lloydminster area.
At the time, the suspect had not been identified, but investigators were provided with potential email addresses and screen names linked to the activity. The Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) took over the file and continued the investigation.
Arrest Made After Year-Long Investigation
Over the course of the investigation, RCMP were able to identify a suspect and obtain an arrest warrant. The warrant was executed on Feb. 5, 2026.
As a result, Jayson Vincent Capio, 32, of Lloydminster, has been charged with:
▪️ Distribution of child pornography
▪️ Possession of child pornography
▪️ Accessing child pornography
Court Appearance Scheduled
Capio was brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions. He is scheduled to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster on Feb. 10, 2026.
